TAE KWON DO
Tae Kwon Do means "The Way of Fist and Foot Fighting." For combat self-defense, it is now a Korean sport in which two people practice methods of hand to hand fighting or one person can exercise for both physical fitness and self-defense. Still primarily a self-defense system,
The Tae Kwon Do student has through many years of rigorous daily practice developed their feet and body into hidden weapons of self-defense. They can respond with lightning-like speed and explosive force should they be physically attacked. Tae Kwon Do has been called the ultimate in self-defense because it trains reflexes so keen and accurate that students can effectively defend themselves from attacks by multiple assailants.
Ultimately, developing a sound mind and a healthy body for a healthy life style.
BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
Is a combat sport, and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. Jiu-Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper techniques, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the attacker. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self- defense. Sparring(commonly referred to as "rolling") and live drilling play a major role in training, and especially in competition for real life pressure testing your skills for self-defense; it's a method for promoting physical fitness and self awareness in young people; and, ultimately, a way (Do) of life.
